Lisa Viehouser, PDC Founder
Certified Birth Doula (DONA), Certified Postpartum Doula
Birth is not about 'doing it right ' or 'one way is better than the other'. I am convinced that the birthing person and their partner need to be given evidence based information and support as they make the choices that feel right to them. It is also very important to me to give you the nurturing and informed care that you deserve. I am honored to support all kinds of families, and look forward to partnering with you as you welcome your little one. My heart's desire is to be able to encourage families to trust their innate wisdom and help them to joyfully embrace their new role as parents, by walking alongside them through the wonderful and challenging journey before them." "As a postpartum doula, I have the honor and deep passion to serve mothers and families during the 4th trimester. I provide “mother/birthing person-centered care” as I believe every newborn mother deserves to be nourished and nurtured as she navigates a new chapter of life. After all, when a baby is born, so is a mother. I am a self-taught cook, and love to support postpartum people with nourishing meals to assist in healing, breastfeeding, and just eating good food that makes you happy. I am continuously studying traditional ways women have been supported after birth, and the foods that nourished them during this time. I offer a variety of services including: postpartum planning, nourishing meals prepared in your home, lactation/feeding support, herbal care, birth story processing, emotional/mental support during recovery from birth, belly binding, household organization, mother and baby sleep solutions, building confidence in your unique parenting style, and anything I can do to keep oxytocin flowing in your postpartum space.” Certification Organization: Newborn Mother's Collective Year Began Practicing: 2022 Number of Families Served: 2+ Education: Bachelors of Science in Marketing - University of Idaho Postpartum Professional Graduate - Newborn Mother's Collective Breastfeeding for Newborn Mothers - Newborn Mother’s Collective Idaho Food Handlers Certification Website: www.mothernourishpostpartum.com Email: mothernourishpostpartum@gmail.com Service area: Virtual and In-home visits. Jessica Mallery
Birth Doula, Midwife Assistant and Student
As a doula, my goal is to provide support that is suited to the needs of each woman and her family. Creating such support requires time, attentiveness, and honor for the unique needs of each client. Because of this, I place high value on prenatal visits in which we get to know each other, explore individual goals, preferences, concerns, and questions. I do my utmost to ensure my clients have access to evidence-based information, are honored in their decisions, and feel prepared to welcome their baby. I support labor and delivery through in-person emotional and physical care. And in the early postpartum days, I remain available to offer a listening ear, gentle advice if it is desired, and connection to additional community resources. It is my joy and privilege to support this sacred and ordinary process.” Certification Organization: DONA Year Began Practicing: 2018 Number of Families Served: 20+births attended Education: Currently a student midwife and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in midwifery at Midwives College of Utah Additional Experience/Training: Midwifery Assistant Training - I'm currently apprenticing with several local midwives. Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula
As a birth and postpartum doula, it is my goal to ensure that you have your ideal birthing experience by offering physical and emotional support during pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester. Whether that looks like providing education and resources, helping you advocate for yourself as well as your sweet baby, or helping you with chores around the house while you navigate the postpartum period- I am here to help you and encourage you through all of it! The word 'doula' is an ancient Greek term, meaning 'a woman who serves'- and it is my honor to serve you and your family during this intimate time in your life. I strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment, where all families can seek the care they desire. Birth (as well as pregnancy) is such an empowering and beautiful experience- not one is exactly the same as another, which is what makes it so fascinating, but also, so very special. Naliah Miller
Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula
“As young as I can remember I have had a passion for healthcare, more specifically working with pregnant women and their babies. I have taken ASL classes and have been practicing American Sign Language for the past two years. My ultimate goal is to become a Midwife, with a focus on working with the Deaf Community which is also a passion of mine. Learning American Sign Language has taught me many things. I have learned things such as the cultural diversity of others. How sign language has evolved over the past 50 years, and learning there are deaf people that did not learn the language until becoming older. The most important thing I have learned is the isolation the deaf community feels when receiving healthcare. More specifically feeling isolated through little communication during childbirth. Being an African American woman has its benefits such as being a part of my own unique culture and experiencing a connection with people, others outside of the culture may not understand, but also has its challenges. I understand the overwhelming feeling of not being included, or mistreated for things I can not change such as the color of my skin. I understand the challenges of being a woman in America, having frustrations of being unheard. I believe this aspect of my identity will work as an advantage in helping me to better care for women with similar challenges. These are just some of the reasons that make me passionate and strive for better healthcare. I am working on and dedicated to becoming a Nurse Midwife, I have found my path and love, through being a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Being a doula ensures that I continue to grow my knowledge, and learn how to care for my patients in a different way and form a more compassionate connection. “ Certification Organization: International Doula Institute Year Began Practicing: 2023 Number of families served: 1 Education: Washington State University, Studying Bachelors of Science and Nursing DONA International Birth and Postpartum Doula Training BSL, Basic Life Support and CPR Certified CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant Intermediate American Sign Language Email: Nailah.mill@gmail.com *Please put Birth or Postpartum services in subject* Service Area: The Palouse (Pullman, Moscow, Lewiston, Clarkson), Spokane
