My name is Hailey. I am a nurse, certified birth and postpartum doula, and soon-to-be childbirth educator. I am also a  momma to two sweet girls. I knew from a young age that I wanted to somehow be involved in the birth community, something I was able to focus on after having my first child and realizing how much support mothers need. I took a birth doula class in Spokane that was taught by a local doula and midwife, as well as a postpartum class, Newborn Mothers, taught by Julia Jones. My passion is in providing evidence-based information to allow families to feel confident in the choices they make for themselves throughout the transition into motherhood, whether it is their first baby or third. As a birth doula, I want families to be prepared and ask the right questions, know their options, and be active participants in their care. Providing physical and emotional support during the birth is only a small part of what I do, as I spend a lot of time with families prior to the birth getting to know what is important to them and preparing them for the many different ways birth can go. But my care does not stop there-postpartum is as important, if not more than the birth. It is a time where mothers feel vulnerable and need a lot of support, whether it's through listening to their experiences, providing resources, education, meals, basic housework, or whatever else the mother may need in the moment.

I believe that all people, but particularly people in childbirth, can do incredibly hard things because they are full of love and that love gives them power. As a doula, my goal is not to try to “save” you from the process of childbirth (you don’t need to be saved) or tell you how to birth, but to support you with information, a listening ear, and practical help so that you can fully embrace your birth experience, no matter what it looks like.
